History of Updates 2001

• 12-29-01 (late evening) Did a bunch of small updates to my Hydra Character page while I was supposed be packing in preparation for the next phase of the New Years car shuffling shenanigans. I'm going now.
• 12-29-01 Installed DSL for my parents. Broadband rocks!
• 12-27-01 Um, not too exciting, but I cleaned up my Bookmarks page while avoiding doing other work. Sigh. trying to deal with a huge backlog of email. I'm also working on making a pair of costume fairy wings. It's much easier to draw them. :-)
• 12-16-01 I learned something today about cookie proportions. We had finally put up lights. I boiled some spices on the stove to make it smell like we were baking. This is way more festive than last year when the entire extent of our decorating was that I mounted the lights, still in their box, in the front window. Anyhow, after some noodling about, I decided to look for recipes on the web for sugar/butter cookies. I found lots and decided to try one because it looked simple. Bad choice. I felt exactly like the user review who commented that they came out like slightly sweet biscuits. ack. These were not cookies. After comparing several (including the Nestle toll house cookie recipe), I discovered it's about equal parts sugar & fat, and about 2 parts flour. The recipe I followed had half part sugar to 1 part fat to 2 parts flour. Oops. But it all worked out in the end. I found that a wedge of laughing cow cheese and super sweet cranraspberry juice make a tasty consolation-prize snack. It's kind of like wine and cheese for kids.
• 12-10-01 Sent away the Halo box today. Sniff. We got an Xbox at work for my parents. The nice thing about the deal was we didn't have to buy the 3 game bundle. Saves $150, woo hoo! Halo is fun. We played Halo constantly for 2+ weeks we had the xbox. (Had to test out the box to make sure it worked for my parents, ya see...) It seriously cut in to my Photoshop time. The thing is, I know there's other good games out for the xbox but practically all you see in the ads are 'Halo this', 'Halo that'. sigh...
• 07-16-01 Wowee, cooked food both nights last weekend. Swedish meatballs are faster to make if you make them hamburger sized. Cream cheese works fine instead of sour cream in the sauce, just whisk to remove lumps. Salmon and hollendaise sauce the next day. Sunspark made the sauce, woo! Mangos for veggies, yum. :) And we got a scarlet trumpet vine a few weeks ago and it's not dead yet. No flowers though. DSL has been broken for a few weeks... too bad. Hands are a bit numb due to combination of photoshopping and work. Oops. Will possibly reorg this site a bit to deal with my new haphazard update strategy.
