1 box | spaetzle (a small Swiss dumpling) (the box is 10.5 oz dry) |
1/2 | onion, chopped |
3 bulbs | garlic, chopped |
1.13 lbs | chicken, sliced |
some | oregano |
1 | zucchini, quartered and sliced |
1 | summer squash, quartered and sliced |
some | mushrooms, sliced |
1/2 can | SPAM, diced (12 oz can) |
Sautee the onion in your favorite lipid until clear. Add the chicken. After a few mins, add the garlic and sprinkle the oregano. When the chicken is mostly cooked, add the gourds, then the mushrooms. When the mushrooms are cooked, add the SPAM. Sautee for a few more minutes. Mix with spaetzle in a huge bowl. Note: the sauteeing process takes about as long (25-30 mins) as the spaetzle takes to cook. Serves 5.
Editor's note: This recipe even works decently well with hotdogs substituted for the chicken and random frozen veggies.
